BOLD PREDICTIONS: NFL EDITION
Here are some bold predictions that I have for the NFL in the coming weeks.
BOLD PREDICTION # 1: Rex Grossman will lead the Bears to the NFC Championship game
Insane? No. Bold? Why yes it is. Rex Grossman will reignite the offense and take a lot of the pressure off the defense. With the deep ball back in the passing game, Benson and the rest of the Running Backs will have a little more running room to work with. This team will get better and better as the season goes on, and will enter the playoffs on a winning streak. From there, they will somehow find a way into the NFC Championship game.
BOLD PREDICTION # 2: The John Beck led Dolphins will be the first team to beat the Patriots
It couldn’t be set up more perfect. Two teams on a course to make history. Patriots going for an undefeated season, while the Dolphins are trying to avoid going winless for the entire year. John Beck will have a better understanding of the offense after having started a few games, and the combination of Chatman and Ricky Williams (you heard me right) will lead the rushing attack that will devastate the Patriots.
BOLD PREDICTION # 3: Simeon Rice will be better than Dwight Freeney
Freeney is now out for the season with his foot injury, and the Colts claimed recently released Simeon Rice off of waivers. Rice will be inspired playing under Tony Dungy again, making him think of his good ol’ days in Tampa Bay. Rice will make a bigger impact on the defense than Freeney, and will help the Colts get back to the AFC Championship game.
I would like to think my crystal ball works 100% of the time, but I have been proven wrong before. Before you pass judgment on such wise bold predictions, wait until they have played themselves out on the field.
